Iki Tadashi is a military leader who was captured by the Soviets during World War II. Treated as a war criminal, he was sentenced to many years of work in a hard prison camp in Siberia. After 11 years in prison, he was released. He returned to Japan and began to adapt to civilian life, refusing his former colleague's offer to work on a defence project. Tadashi decided never to get involved again in the war, to the great joy of his family. Instead, he tries to embark on a new path by working in a large commercial society.
